Also featured at the Pearl Beach Cottage Resort, the tarsier: the world’s smallest primate.
They generally do not exceed 10 cm in height and weigh only around 150 grams. They are found in just two countries — the Philippines and Indonesia — mainly in southern Sulawesi, and more specifically on Selayar Island.
It feeds on small insects and nests in trees. Its head can rotate up to 180 degrees in both directions, and its large, bulging eyes are as big as its brain.
